Sharing 3: Free Mixing between Men and Women

Assalamualaikum, we are to our third sharing. For this sharing, we are going to talk about free mixing between men and woman. In Islam, it is known as Ikhtilat.

I start knowing this word when i'm in secondary school. It is a religious school. So, taking care of ikhtilat is very important. Teachers and our seniors all talking that ikhtilat will shall not get less attention. And so, i just follow the rules. When we talk between boys and girls, we rarely talking by face to face. Usually, the girls will looking down. Sometimes, the just talk behind the walls. As long as, they are not seeing the face. Even, when we're making a group. We usually will not mix it into two gender altogether.

But, this is only happen when im in my secondary school.

When i continue my studies in University. It really open. Even though some of them are from the same background, where they also studying in religious school. They did not really treating people or opposite gender like when in in my high school. It will seem unique if we see there's a group of people who still taking good care of the ikhtilat.

However, in IIUM, i am glad that i got involve with a society that really good in differentiate between the communication in professional way and happy lucky way. There is a still a society that exist.

Before i continue with my story, let me tell you. The original hukm on ikhtilat is haram. It is forbidden. But, there are some circumstances that allowed us to. For example, when we are doing business, or in emergency. That's why we cannot take this lightly. In secondary school, it easy to practice ikhtilat. Because our teacher and the circumstances already divided us between the woman and man on the certain works. But, when we came to university and starting to work in real life. We need to take care of it. We are the one who takes the responsibility. It is our choice to pick on which side.

As we know, there's one ayah from al-Quran that related with ikhtilat.

"Don't get near with Zina."

Allah told us not even to get near. Not to get near.

So, i found a website that tell us ways to stay in guard when we are dealing with opposite gender.

https://wasyafiq.wordpress.com/2011/08/26/tips-untuk-muslimah-ikhtilat-biarlah-kena-dengan-caranya/

But, let me simplify it.

1. Lessen our business with opposite gender.

2. If you need to, try to use another medium like emailing and use formal words.

3. Lessen dealing with them by calling in phone.

4. Take care of your heart. Don't let it easily getting attached.

5. Take care of your sight. Don't look at a person too long or imagining things.

6. Show good behaviour. Make it as formal as possible.

7. Don't wear a strong perfume that will attract opposite gender.

8. Don't meet with opposite gender without mahram beside you.

9. The meeting should be a need. Not just for fun.

10. Make your business finish faster.

11. The meeting should be in open place and be professional.

I think that's all from me. I hope it is beneficial for you.

Sharing 2: Supplications and Sunnahs before Sleeping

Assalamualaikum, and hi everyone! Hope you guys have a nice day. \^O^/

Okay, for today's posting, i will be sharing a little bit about supplications and sunnahs before sleeping. Most of us already know some of it, but not everyone actually practice in reality.

The first thing is perform wudhu'. You can refer to this hadith:

Al-Bara' bin 'Azib (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) directed me thus: "Whenever you go to bed, perform Wudu' as you do for Salat then (before sleeping) recite: 'O Allah! I have submitted myself to You, I have turned myself to You, committed my affairs to You and sought Your refuge for protection out of desire for You and fear of You (expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment). There is no refuge and no place of safety from You but with You. I believe in the Book You have revealed and in the Prophet (ﷺ) You have sent."' Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) added: "If anyone recites these words and dies during the night, he will die on the true Deen, and if he remains alive till the morning, he will obtain good. And make this supplication your last words (before sleeping)."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The second things that we need to do is reciting some surah.
Aishah narrated that:
Every night, when the Prophet (ﷺ) would go to his bed, he would join his hands, then blow in them, as he recited in them: “Say: He is Allah, the One.” And “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of Al-Falaq” and “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind.” Then he would wipe as much as he was able to of his body with them, beginning with them first of his head and face, and the front of his body. He would do this three times.

Sharing 1: Importance of 5 Prayers

Hi and Assalamualaikum,

It has been a year after my last E-Portfolio last year in Usrah Budi 1. And this semester, I continue in Usrah Budi 2. Okay, here i will be sharing some of what i have tought in our first class. As we all know, 2020 is the year of Covid-19. And so, we going through the class with online learning, conducted by Sister Anis Aqilah.

In our first class, we get to watch an illustration video about the importance of 5 daily prayers.

As a Muslim, we pray 5 times a day. That's a must. We called it as an obligatory prayer. There's also another prayer, but not a must. It is sunnah. Which is, if we pray we get reward. But, if we don't, we get nothing.

I always heard that the prayer was described as the pillars of Islam. But, rarely I heard about us revolving around the pillars. The video told us that our live is revolved around the salat. Then, Nouman Ali Khan mention pillars in a building. We go around it and not moving the pillars, because we doesn't want to mess with it. If not, the building will collapse. The don't have pillars for them to stay standing, That is the pillars, of our 5 prayers in a day. We can't move it around, if not, our building (foundation) of faith will collapse.

Allah gives us some advices to take care of the quality of our Salat. The first one is constant, which means they have a very set, precise, methodical schedule for their Salat. Our true Muslim is shown by the Salat. If we want to serve Islam, then we have first to be ready and qualified for it.

E-Portfolio 3 (Contributions)

Hi and Assalamualaikum, guys!

Salam Jumuah! Hope we still manage to do some of the sunnah even it's little.

This is about my contributions.

My friend, Ummu, ask me to join her teaching Quran in UM. Since, she already got the transport and i'm free that time, i agreed. It was my first time going so far, teaching those children Quran. We (Children and I) also had some conversations before they go home after finishing read the Quran.

My family and their family had different background. So, when I ask them about a famous personality, they don't really know about it. I also had some time, telling them story about Jannah. It feels amazing to see they really want to hear about it. Sometimes, my words was too matured that they don't understand it. But, Alhamdulillah they ask to explain it than just being silent about it. Hope they can be a good muslim.

And this also happen on this year, where i am one of the committees, one of Preparation and Technical (PrepTech). It was my first time being one of PrepTech. At first, i don't really know what to do. Coz, i am not used being a committee. But, our head PrepTech always try to teach me. Thank you, Azzam! I do some follow up at the Masjid Office. On our event day, there were some problems, but Alhamdulillah, we manage to handle it well. It taught me to be better next time. We need to remember the name of the person we follow up with. And also to know the amount of things to borrow and to make sure the event are going smoothly especially because we take care of the technical.

This event, which is a talk, where we have Ustaz Mursyid al-Amien as our guest.

Also, I'm joining IIUMTV as one of the Technical Crew last semester, but for this semester, I am one of the Sponsorship Crew. But, when there's not enough people, sometimes i come to the studio to help them taking care as Cameraman. It was fun to communicate with different kind of people, as they are from different Kuliyyah. Yeah, we can see and feel the difference between each Kuliyyah. This kind of people, from this kind of Kuliyyah. Even though not all have the same kind, but majority was like that.

Our show, IIUM Brilliance brings people from IIUM, either the graduates or the students or even the lecturer came to our show and tells us on how to be great like them. Especially from our show, we have an exclusive questions where they need to answer in every episodes. It's about the title of book that they recommend us to read, as we know, success people read books but reading 'some' book doesn't mean we can be success. That's why we need to choose the right book to read as it will influence on our perception.

That's all from me, there's more. But i will just highlight on those three contributions that i had made from this year.

E-Portfolio 2 (Abilities)

Hi and Assalamualaykum everyone!

Hope you guys enjoy your day today. May Allah bless you along the way.
I’ve got new topic for today. It’s abilities!
Some of you might already know what kind of abilities that I have. I love to draw and I can draw well.. But still need more practices. That is what I can do. During my secondary school, I had made some comics by collaborating with my friends, Khadijah and a few that give me suggestions. Sorry, I don’t really remember other’s name. Mostly Khadijah, coz we shared the same interest. And, she also good in making stories.

I remembered when I’m in Form 2 (14 years old), I made 10 different topics of comic. My friend, Khadijah helped me with the storyboard, I’m not really good in making one. Usually if I made it alone, the story will never end and some of them might clash and confusing. So, Khadijah really helped me a lot for that. However, sadly. I don’t know where those comics now. It was really hard on making even one.

Okay, leaving that..

My first drawing that appears in a comic was just as a fan. It was really exciting to see mine in such popular comic. Even though I don’t really read the comic, coz it’s about sport and I don’t really like sport that time. (But now, I do love it!) The comic was SS10, illustrated by Ben Wong. A Malaysian comic artist, a very popular one!

After making 10 in Form 2, I made another one when I’m in lower six. That time I was appointed as one of the Excos, I’m as the assistant of Publicity. Since I’m not good in making the storyboard, I had some help from the subcommittee, those who have a good story, will be chosen to draw by me. I already post it in my Instagram, if you want to search and read it. But, I repeat,, I’m still an amature.

And, if you ask me, instead of telling those subcomm to make the storyboard, why don’t you ask Khadijah? That’s because she already graduated as a student there. Don’t misunderstand. I’m also graduated, but I continue my studies as STAM’s student.

And, that’s it!
Just a short one, and I hope you enjoy it! Have a nice day and Assalamualaykum.

E-Portfolio 1 (Biodata)

Hi and Assalamualaykum, everyone!

It has been a while i'm writing into this blog. Hope you guys still want to read my story... just kidding. I'm joking here, so give me a smile even though i can't see it. But i do serious when i'm hoping that you still reading it. Okay, let's get into the point.

After like nearly 7 years blogging, i finally introduce myself. If I already do that, let's do it again. This is one of my assignment actually.

Hi again! My name is Amiratul Huda binti Mohd Sham. My matric number is 1823656. I'm currently studying in Islamic International University Malaysia (IIUM)  or most Malaysian recognized it as UIA Gombak, as it situated in Gombak. We have another more UIA and UIA Gombak is the centre for all of those. Before I started introducing more about me, let me tell you the secret (not exactly) behind the matric number. 1823656. That's the number. 18 is for the year i'm getting into UIA Gombak as an undergraduate student (UG) and 2 is for which sem i'm starting my life as an UG student. For another 4 numbers, i don't know if there's any meaning behind that. So, just for the first three number. By the way, I'm currently in my first year first sem. Last sem, i did not get into kuliyyah as I stuck in Celpad. Okay, for the details about Celpad, i won't tell about that here for now. Oh! And I'm majoring in Quran Sunnah which is from department of Islamic Revealed Knowledge (IRK).

Ok, continuing...

I'm born in Terengganu on 22th February 1999, one year before the new generation began. I'm the oldest among my siblings. I have 2 younger brothers and 5 younger sisters. As i'm still a student, university student, those younger ones also still in school. That's common. The youngest one is in Primary School and she's now (2019) in Year 2.

Ok, let's continue about my studies..

When i'm 4 until 6 years old, i'm studying in Pasti. We wear an attire called Jubah and it's in green. That Pasti is really near to my home, but i didn't dare to walk at the street and would just waiting for my mother to pick me up when it's time to go home. I don't remember what exactly is the Pasti name, and after that i  studied in Taska Nur Tasnim. Wait... i don't exactly remember my age that time. Sorry guys, don't trust my actual age on about me studying in Pasti coz me myself aren't sure with that.

But i'm very sure about my life flow starting 7. When i'm 7 years old, we move into another village which is nearer to the city. On that time, the total of my siblings is four, including me. And then, I continue my studies into SK Sultan Sulaiman 1. My father was an Ustaz there. I managed to learn in that school until i'm in Year 6. UPSR and UPKK also in that school. When i'm in my last year as a student there, my father died in accident. It was a motor vs motor accident. As for that, he comas for a few days and after that he's not breathing anymore. It was a sudden. No one can predict something like this happening because it's an accident, and he's not patient for any diseases.

However, alhamdulillah, i still managed to get straight A's for my UPSR. And then, i continue to study in SMA(A)SZA, stands for Sekolah Menengah Agama (Atas) Sultan Zainal Abidin. It was a boarding school and a religious one. I continued until I'm 19 years old, because I'm taking STAM there and before that i'm from Science stream student. Then, alhamdulillah, with the result, i can get into UIAM.

Okay, that's all from me. Hope you enjoying this, and thank you for reading it until the end.

Ps : Sorry for my bad English, but if you don't understand or want to know more, just comment or email me the question. Btw, UIA is international university, that's why im using full english right now.

Ini baru permulaan

Assalamualaikum pembaca blog sekalian.

Mungkin sebab tulah kot, saya buat blog ni. Kebanyakannya pun memang dipenuhi dengan cerita saya. Mungkin agak memalukan. Tapi, saya tak kisah sangat pun.

Saya punya impian sendiri. Impian ni terbit sudah lama. Malah, itulah yang membuatkan saya masih lagi bersama dengannya walaupun kadang saya tinggalkan sekejap. Nak tinggal, tapi takleh. Sebab tanpa impian, susah kita nak hidup. Tanpa tujuan, hidup kita tiada perisa.

Saya ingin berkata manis, tapi takut nanti saya yang jadi hipokrit. Saya ingin jadi pendakwah, tapi saya sedar diri ni bukanlah baik sangat pun.

Tapi, bila umi suruh saya masuk stam, means saya kena tinggalkan impian saya, sebab saya dapat diploma animasi ataupun digital camtu, saya tak ingat mana dah.

Makanya, beginilah persepsi saya sekarang. Mungkin, saya ambil jurusan lain, tapi still saya masih lagi dikurniakan tangan. Cuma jalannya agak sukar kerna ia tak straight to the point.

Doakan saya.
